Road to a Nude Nation?

The headline from The Cut reads: "Do You Find This New Lanvin Ad Creepy?" At first glance I'm like hell yeah! She's all bloodied-up a la Lady Gaga! This I understand is part of the Parisian fashion house, Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign.

The Cut believes it may be an "extension of the naked trend" you know, where eventually it'll be ok for us to step out with strategically placed tassels on our girly/boyish parts. Copyranter believes it may be "the start of a new zombie trend for 2010. Chat Gem believes this has Lady Gaga generation written all over it.

Really, why are we surprised by this? We've been given enough warnings; do you remember Demi Moore's body paint cover of Vanity Fair, Evan Longoria presenting at the MTV Music Awards in a swimsuit, Britney Spears performing almost nude also at the VMA's, and Jennifer Lopez's famously green Versace dress... the one with the huge front slit that was thisclose to connecting to her northern natural slit (as if I really needed to remind you).
Fashion is something bold, expressive, assertive and down right scary sometimes. Get ready folks, I have a feeling we are quite soon to become a very fashionable nude nation. I personally I'm just not ready. There's way too much jelly in my junk to be flaunting. I suppose this should serve as additional incentive to hit the gym in 2010.

  1. If the future fashion is woman wearing paint, I should've been a painter and decorator.
