Nicole Ritchie = Success!

There's something about Nicole Ritchie that I've always liked. She has a wicked sense of humor and she's sort of spunky. Definitely walks to the beat of her own drum. Well, at least that's what I've gathered. I think she has a fun spirit.

I honestly never thought she had an eating disorder. I just think that she was at a time in her life where her body and her lifestyle were working against her. She went through an unhealthy stage with weight gain and loss but really, who hasn't experienced something similar. Who really knows what she was going through and everyone will have an opinion. Whatever.

Today Nicole is a success story. Ever since meeting rocker Joel Madden, her life has taken a turn for the best. She now has two beautiful kids, a great relationship and exciting projects ahead. Yep, Nicole is certainly a success story.

Nicole is featured in the March issue of British Marie Claire and below is a little excerpt from the mag along with some beautiful pics.
"I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don't," she says. "It's extremely insulting and irresponsible."
Adds Richie, "An eating disorder is serious and it's a disease. "But since daughter Harlow's arrival nearly two years ago and son Sparrow's 2009 birth (dad is rocker Joel Madden), Richie says she doesn't want to dwell on the past any more.
"I'm just one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I'm having," she says. "Going into my past is just not something that I do."
Adds Richie, "Right now I'm just living my dreams."

Orlando Bloom on Gloomy Day

It's a rainy gloomy day in New York City.  I think days like these should automatically count as a free day off. Blah, blah and bleh.

Anyway to brighten up my day somewhat, here's a cute silly pic of Orlando Bloom.  I like this Orlando Bloom - the one that looks like an innocent silly kid.

The Good, The Bad, The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are over officially marking the beginning of awards season. These are exciting times! I so look forward to these events I tried convincing a friend to host at GG party where the requirements was simply, "dress to impress". Needles to say she didn't buy it. But there's still the Oscars and so I shall remain hopeful.

Opinions will fly high but here on lies my personal BEST and WORST dress of the night:

BEST
My favorite of these lovely ladies would have to be Diane Kruger. She looks like a freshly picked rose. Perfection!  She's followed closely by Emily Blunt who's always brilliant. Next is Jennifer Morrison and her cascading dress. I'm not sure what it is about this dress but something about it I love and find daring. The surprise of the moment was Drew. Drew doesn't always get it right although she's been pretty good lately, but I have to say this dress is stunning!

WORST:
I will not attempt to explain the frocks. The old lady frocks on Nicole and Cameron. Sandra, I heart you and I heart purple but I just couldn't understand this - it looks noisy. Was it noisy, Sandra? And finally Penelope... no entiendo. I cannot, simply cannot so I will not. I will wait for the Oscars where I KNOW you will redeem yourself.

How you can help Haiti

The situation in Haiti is gloom and I'm sure many of you are wondering what you can do to help. According to CNN, an International Red Cross spokesman warned that up to 3 million people may have been affected by Tuesday's earthquake. Below you can find a list of organizations specifically helping toward the relief of Haiti:

This is Truly, Truly, Truly Outrageous!

This is excitement! Ooouu Jem... Jem is adventure! Ooouu... Glamour and glitter, fashion and fame! JEM... Jem is truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous.  Woo ooo Jem...

After an almost 20 year legal battle Hasbro has shown some activity in maintaining their trademark and intellectual property, english: Hasbro has revived the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises leading most to believe that a Jem and the Holograms film may not be too far behind in production.  February 4th is said to be date we should know for sure.

Let me just say this: Jem and the Holograms got me through middle school. There once lived a little Broadway/Rock Star girl deep down inside me that was constantly itching to get out, and Jem got me though it. I had a doll... and 3 outfit changes. Jem understood me and spoke to me. I wanted to be Jerrica Benton so damn bad, my Catholic confirmation name is "Erica" (it was the closest I could get without completely reaching looser status). Oh, and um... i'm not even Catholic. It's a long story and yes, i may have a one way ticket to hell waiting for me. I digress.

I may have regretfully revealed way too much about myself (whatever) but in conclusion I will say this: If Hasbro f-cks this up i will be highly PISSED like a MOFO!  That is all! I now leave you with this master piece.

ps: tell me you don't see Lady Gaga all over this ish...

The Bauble That Made Me Babble

This here is old news. November 2009 old to be exact, but for me its brand new news. I'm easily amused and not ashamed to admit when I'm completely clueless about something. I was totally distracted by something else when this photo just blinded me to a stop - I'm no longer sure what I was doing before. I'm not faithful to InStyle so I can understand where it would have taken me two months to see this.

Isn't it lovely?Yes, its gaudy in a sexy Chanel way but isn't just precious? And it's a pinky ring! It's called "Ruban 1932". Yes, yes Blake Lyvely looks lovely too but the bauble is just exquisite.

I don't know, but lately i've had a fascination with rings - engagement rings to be more accurate. A couple of my colleagues recently got engaged and I'm find myself ring stalking. This must be a sign. Oh well, at least its not my maternity clock... tick tokc, tick tock.

Here's the piece InStyle wrote on the darling Ruban 1932

We Love Blake Lively's $270,000 Chanel Ring!

When Chanel Fine Jewelry hosted the annual Fete d'Hiver in New York City, we were prepared to see some stunning baubles. Blake Lively's necklace certainly made a statement, but it was the delicate "Ruban 1932" ring she wore that drove us to distraction. "I'm so attached to everythingChanel," admitted the Gossip Girl, on hand to help raise funds for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Clown Care program. "But this pinky ring is just amazing!"And since it is a 3.01 cushion cut diamond (surrounded by 246 brilliant cut sparklers) set on an 18k white gold "ribbon" setting, it's also a fortune—Blake borrowed, but it can be yours for $270,000. If only, as We're Obsessed editor Megan Deem says, money were no object.

My Robert Pattinson Experience **UPDATE**

*~* UPDATE *~*
I'm not sure why I didn't do this earlier considering I was there. Here's the video of Robert Pattinson at the Regis & Kelly Show and below is my take on the entire experience along with some exclusive pics. I will never forget this day

Note: this is re-post of my earlier blog covering this day.

Sorry Kelly :-/

First and foremost I want to give a special shout out to Veespott for getting me the hook-up to the Regis & Kelly Show. Today's Special Guest: Robert Pattinson!

But first a quick pre Robert recap: 20min before going live we were hoarded into the tiny studio, given a raffle number and told to sit wherever.  I choose top center. I figured I would be safe there in case the crazies get out of control. My darling cousin who took the 6am train in from Long Island was already plotting where she will jump and who she was going to take down once Rob came out. I sternly warned her she was NOT allowed to embarrass me! After a few lessons on how and when to scream and clap, the producer introduced Regis and Kelly and we were LIVE!
We endured about 15 minutes of the standard Regis and Kelly morning chatter surroundings current events. Kelly is the best, super tiny and so sweet. Regis is endearing. No Kidding. And then it was time for Robert Pattinson. He walked out looking as adorable as ever and greeted his hosts. As you can imagine the shrieking decibels at this point was insanity. They went through the normal rounds of Q&A's which were of course about the movies, his auditioning, his understanding of the fanfare with vampires etc. The best part however was during the breaks. You know what? I say more power to you and your cojones if you can stand up and scream at the top of your lungs for his attention.
God Bless him, really. The patience to endure the constant screaming, people calling out your name demanding photos, autographs or just to hug you, I'm sure can be very overwhelming. But Robert, gracious as ever smiled, honestly just smiled and walked over and patiently took his photos, signed autographs and answered random questions. I didn't dive in for the autograph... I'm not the type and I never was. My cousin was torn between the thought of me killing her if she tried any funny business and embarrassing herself in front of "her man".  Whatever! The killer was when a girl screamed, "Robert, will you please have my baby?". Classic. I swear the man just stopped and silently mouthed the question back to himself with the most adorable baffled look. That there was priceless.
Overall it was an awesome experience just to be there. You can't tell much about a person by simply seeing them across a stage but Robert gave the impression that he was truly taken a back by all of the attention. He's just a simple guy trying to take it all in. I honestly wish him the best of luck in the future. He has been placed high in a pedestal  by his adoring fans and he's yet to prove himself fully. But I'm confident that he will. I'm excited  for what he may have up his sleeves in the coming years. And for now, I'm excited for New Moon.
