Were you as excited as i was for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards? I skipped out on the festivities last year due to a self-imposed no television rule. This marked the official kick-off of the award season. Hooray!
I was anxious to see if any of my favorite actors would walk away winners but lets face it, i was much more excited over the stunning gowns that would be displayed on the red carpet. Sometimes i believe that this is what truly matters, the fashion. (i'm sorry actors). Hey, i keep it real. But i also like that it does lights a fire in my butt to hurry and catch all the great films before the Academy Awards.
I was surprised by how much i enjoyed the fashion on this night. There was a clear presence of nude flesh tones and not a shortage of red. Here i have selected my top eight favorite best dressed of the evening.
I love doing the selection process and then comparing with my favorite fashion sites and bloggers to see if we saw eye to eye. I'm usually pretty close in the race. Take a look and tell me if you agree.

- Michelle Dockery in a gold and ivory gown. - Perhaps its my sudden fascination with Downton Abbey but i think Michelle looked stunning and regal in this gown. The intricate gold bodice had me at hello. Sad i did not learn who the designer was.
- Anne Hathaway in a white two-piece Chanel column gown. - This dress really does speak Anne. Long, sleek and angelic. The minimal accessories was also a good call.
- Kerry Washington in a sheer Miu Miu dress - This is the first dress i fell in love with. Beautiful cut, and sheer front embellished with sparkly beading. Kerry looks lovely.
- Amanda Seyfried in a nude Givenchy gown. - I fell in love with this lace wonder the instant i saw it. It screams timeless and appears as if it was meant for her. I read somewhere the lucky gal got to keep the gown. Such luck.
- Kate Hudson in a Alexander McQueen black and gold gown. - I love the golden collar and the keyhole chest. So sexy. Kate has never looked better. Her body is something to be worshiped. Have you seen her on Glee lately? I pray for that body i tell ya.
- Katharine McPhee in a Theyskens' Theory gown. - This is a very high-fashion look and quite daring with its to there plunging neckline and sexy leg slit. It's a great look on Katherine.
- Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood Couture. - I love the slight pattern of the dress and easy flow of the skirt. She wears it beautifully.
- Jennifer Lawrence in a Dior Haute Couture ball gown. - The color is a rich coral and the thin metallic belt was the perfect pop. The hair, make-up and accessories was all well put together. Her styling team did a marvelous job. She's a vision.
And so there you have it. Do we agree? I'm anxious to see how my favorite bloggers did. It was a good night for Hollywood. Oh and how super exciting i was to see my friend Lilliana Vazquez hosting the red carpet for 1st Look Live. So proud of all of her achievements.
HAVE A GREAT MONDAY LOVERS.
