Happy Birthday John Lennon!
Last year for my Birthday, my friend Dee and I took advantage of a pair of free airline tickets i’d won and booked a last minute trip to Montreal, Canada. We had a great time exploring this beautiful city with its rich and diverse mix of culture. Everyone was so nice and polite – I was fascinate by the french and english signage all around us.
One of the many highlights of the trip was visiting the Montreal Museum of Fine Art and seeing the “Imagine” exhibit. The exhibit was designed to showcase a thoughtful look at the 40th anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous Bed-In for Peace. We were so enthralled by it all that we easily lost track of time.
It was amazing. I loved it and wish I could see it again. So in honor of those memories and of John Lennon’s birthday here’s a little trip down memory lane.
“Imagine there’s no countries it isn’t hard to do / nothing to kill or die for and no religion too / Imagine all the people living life in peace…. / You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one / I hope someday you’ll join us and the world will be as one…” ~ John Lennon

This was my favorite. It’s called the ‘Play it by Trust’ white chess game. It signifies unity and equality.
